What should I wear?
While we would love it if every one wore Victorian clothes, all that we ask is that ladies wear a skirt and that gentlemen do not wear jeans. Also, please do not wear sneakers or rubber soled shoes as they do not slide well on the dance floor. If you are going to wear a military uniform, please leave swords, knives, pistols, or spurs at home. If you are looking for things to wear in Silverton, My Favorite Things carries Victorian clothes and plans on selling consignment pieces during the Step Back weekend. In Durango, contact Gussied Up Gal for Victorian hats, petticoats, gloves, purses and collars. You can see some of her work here. There are many online purveyors of accurate Victorian costume such as River Junction Trade Co. or The Gentlemen's Emporium. We will post more ideas as we get them, otherwise please contact us directly and we can try to help.
Do I need to bring a partner?
Not at all. Ladies, please feel free to ask gentlemen to dance.
